More about the FTSE EPRA Europe Index
The European Public Real Estate Association, or EPRA, has created an index which is composed of a basket of UK and European commercial property equities. This new index is called the FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Europe Index ('EPRA Europe') and was launched on the 21st of February 2005.
The EPRA Europe Index consists of some of the world’s largest property companies. The index is comprised of approximately 70 publicly quoted property companies spread across 14 European countries. These global companies invest predominantly in office, retail and industrial property. The index includes companies such as British Land (UK), Land Securities (UK) and Unibal (France). UK companies account for 52% of EPRA Europe, with Dutch and French companies representing 15% and 12% respectively (October 2004). Product Innovations is the first to launch a structured product based on the EPRA Europe Index.
